Background

LEADER is an innovative, wide-ranging funding programme aimed at improving quality of life and encouraging economic prosperity in rural communities. It supports local initiatives and projects that meet a diverse range of community needs and aspirations.

To date, Moray LEADER has supported a huge range of projects, including the development of foot and cycle path networks, conservation of natural heritage sites and wildlife, and the renovation of village hall facilities.

The Moray LEADER Programme is in its final 2 years – and there’s still over £800,000 to commit to viable projects. If you think you have a community project that could benefit from LEADER input, then come along to this free event and find out more about LEADER and how it can help you take your community forward.

Programme

Richard Lochhead, Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs and Environment, will be attending the event and giving opening remarks, and several people who have set up projects will be talking about their experiences.

The event takes place between 10am and 1pm on Friday 14th October at Miltonduff Hall – and is followed by lunch and the opportunity to network and meet members of the Local Action Group (LAG) and staff who deliver the LEADER Programme. You’ll be able to get all the advice and information you need on how to take your project forward.
